CrossroadsAn Opportunity for HopeCrossroads of Arizona is one of the only organizations in the state providing recovery programs in residential facilities for men and women who are victims of drug and alcohol abuse. Begun in 1960, Crossroads has helped thousands of individuals develop the self-respect and self-esteem necessary to live healthy, happy, functional lives free of substance dependency. Due to steadily increasing demand for its services, the board of directors determined Crossroads had to grow and that a capital development campaign would be necessary. The board retained Young and Company to provide counsel to the $2 million fundraising effort. Though the case for Crossroads was compelling, the campaign would prove to be a challenge. The most likely donors were those who had benefited from Crossroad's services and care, but many of these individuals wished - with good reason - to remain anonymous. It was only through the diligence and perseverance of campaign leaders that many grateful program participants and supportive donors were identified and solicited. The campaign was a tremendous success and the $2 million goal was achieved in 12 months time. Crossroads was able to acquire a new 50-bed facility for men and a new 3/4 house for women, as well as pay off $100,000 in long-term debt and begin a $50,000 reserve fund for repairs at Crossroads facilities. |
