While Camp Wamatochick was serving 3,000 children annually, the toilet and shower facilities were hopelessly outdated and at capacity. Learn more Florence CrittentonIt had been more than 50 years since Florence Crittenton's last capital campaign. No one was around who remembered how to raise the sums of money that would be needed. Yet, the board of directors could no longer tolerate inadequate facilities for the number of girls needing the counseling, residential support and education offered by the agency. Due to steadily increasing demand for its services, the board of directors determined Crossroads had to grow and that a capital development campaign would be necessary. Learn more Mesa Arts CenterThe Building the Arts in Mesa's Heart capital development campaign was nearing its $3.7 million goal when the phone rang in the back of the campaign office. The caller said he wanted to make a gift - a big gift - to help finish the construction on Mesa's new $90 million performing arts complex. Learn more West Valley Child Crisis CenterWhen the board of directors decided to undertake a $3.3 million capital development campaign to build a new Kids' Campus, West Valley Child Crisis was operating from two modest residential homes in the area of 59th Avenue and Camelback. This allowed for the care of only 15 children at a time. The organization had to expand to meet the increasing demand for its services from West Valley communities.
