Alan M. Young

Alan M. Young, founded Young & Company to provide Arizona's nonprofit organizations with the very finest in capital development planning, management and counsel. With over two decades of successful fundraising and management experience, he has earned an outstanding reputation in long-range and financial development planning for not-for-profit institutions and has a proven record in managing capital development and annual giving programs.

Alan has served clients in the fields of health care, education, the arts, youth development, social services and conservation. His work has involved the turn around of failing organizations, the start-up of new enterprises and the organizational development and expansion of emerging groups. Most recently, he directed a $7.1 million campaign to expand Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona, a $25 million campaign to construct and renovate YMCA facilities in Arizona and a $5.5 million campaign to build new Boys & Girls Clubs in Scottsdale, Arizona. He also directed John C. Lincoln Health Care Foundation's $4 million endowment campaign and served as counsel to the Desert Botanical Garden's $17 million Growing a Legacy for Generations campaign.

A recognized public speaker, he is often requested to address groups of all sizes on subjects ranging from the cultivation of donor prospects to capital development planning.

A 1978 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he earned his MBA from Pepperdine University in 1989. He is an active member of the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serves as a director of Florence Crittenton and is a member of the Arizona Town Hall.

In 1979, Alan walked the 2,600-mile Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail from the Mexican border to the Canadian border in one continuous trip. He is a past president of the Pacific Crest Trail Association and is an avid sailer.
